The Good Student Is The Obedient Student

John 7:17  If anyone is willing to act according to His purposes and is open to hearing truth, he will know the source of My teaching. Does it come from God or from Me? (VOICE)

We are a prideful people aren't we? We are so concerned about whether we will be thought foolish. We are willing to spend fortunes for college educations, yet how many spend time getting to know the source of real knowledge?

Intellectual knowledge is useful, but spiritual knowledge has greater value. Math and science, history and literature contain curriculum to be studied. These things can assist you in your life. They cannot teach you how to truly live.

If a man wants scientific knowledge, intellectual curiosity is his guide; but if he wants insight into what Jesus Christ teaches, he can only get it by obedience.

The lessons we learn from Jesus come only through the study of His word and our obedience to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. We learn and grow spiritually in direct response to our willingness to follow where He leads. If you want to learn the will of God, you cannot remain spiritually ignorant.

First go – at the risk of being thought fanatical you must obey what God tells you.
